Around the world in 80 days Part 8 p127--230

When Passepartout woke up the following morning, he couldn't find Mrs. Aouda and Mr. Fogg on the Carnatic. For a moment he had thought that he was on the wrong ship, but the purser told him that he was on the Carnatic and there were no his master's name and the young lady's name on the list. He realized that it was his fault that they were not on the boat. After the Carnatic docked in Yokohama, he just walked all day, because his pockets were empty, he did not have a shilling, not even a penny, he felt pretty hungry. Passepartout had to find a job to make some money to feed himself. Of course, he found a job as a servant and a clown, but for another master. Also he wanted to get on a boat to San Francisco where he thought he would find Mr. Fogg. But when he was on a performer, Mr. Fogg and Mrs. Aouda saw him and asked him to go on the boat which named General Grant went from Yokohama to America as soon as possible. Nine days after leaving Yokohama, Phileas Fogg had gone exactly halfway around the globe, and he had used up fifty-two and had only twenty-eight left. Unbelievable, Mr. Fix was also on the General Grant! Afther they arrived at America, they walked on the road and met Mr. fix. And that day was political rally, so there were a lot of people on the street in San Francisco. Then Mr.Fogg were going to take train from San Francisco to New York. In the past it took at best six mouths to go from New York to San Francisco. When Fogg took, it took seven days. He hoped to catch the Liverpool steamer after he arrives at New York on schedule. When Passepartout was travelling on the express train, he received a lecture on Mormon history. By the time they had covered 1,382 miles sine San Francisco and it had taken three days and three nights. Four days and four nights should be enough, according to the best estimates, Mr. Fogg still had chance to reach New York within his deadline. But there was an unfortunate thing happened on the very fast train to New York, someone wanted to stop the train and rob the travellers. And Passepartput and other two passengers were captured by these robbers. Our brave Mr. Fogg decided to save his servant again, this time he had thirty soldiers who were asked by the captain to protect Mr. Fogg. As usual, he generous told these soldiers that if we rescued the prisoners, there would be a reward of 1,000 pound waiting for them. Of course, Passepartout and the two other passengers were rescued successful. After these things happened, Mr. Fix did not say anything but was looking at Mr. Fogg, and started to change his orginal thoughts. The train had left, and Phileas Fogg was twenty hours late. At that time, Mr. Fix gave Mr. Fogg a good idea to arrive in New York on time, by sledge. Because of it was December and snowing, so it worked. After a very cold trip, they finally arrived in the station, but the China, bound for Liverpool, had left forty-five minutes earlier! What a pity! Another misfortune thing happened to them and their almost done trip. Then they found a ship which would leave in an hour but not to Liverpool. it went to China. Mr. Fogg always had ways to figure out these problems. Yes, the solution was money again. By the way, the boat's name was Henrietta. Finally he arrived the club on time.

As his trip, at the beginning, people thought he was the thief who robber the bank of England, and his behavior which rashly bet that he could travel around the entire globe in just eighty days. The policeman, Mr. Fix followed him all the trip, gradually he found Mr. Fogg was not that people told about. Even Fix told Passeportout that his master was a thisf during the trip, Passeportout did not betray his mater. I thought that Mr. Fogg knew what other people were talking about, but he just wanted to finish his trip or his dream. It is very important to do your business successful that no matter what other people say, you need to follow your dream bravely and never give up.
